Weekend Events Vancouver WA (Apr 18–19, 2026): K-Pop, Powwow, Motocross

Things to Do in Vancouver WA This Weekend (Apr 18–19, 2026)

An action-packed spring weekend featuring culture, community, adrenaline, Earth Day volunteering, and a breathtaking dance-choral experience.

This weekend across Southwest Washington and Portland, there’s genuinely something for everyone — and I mean that in the most literal way. You can cheer on motocross riders tearing through the scenic Washougal foothills on Saturday morning, then head downtown to help clean up the waterfront before noon. Sunday, K-Pop fans are taking over Vancouver Mall for a free fan event, while Indigenous culture takes center stage at Clark College. And over in Portland, one of the most uniquely “Portland” events of the year combines a scenic bridge run with a full-on waterfront beer festival.

If you’re newer to the area, weekends like this show you exactly why the Pacific Northwest has such a devoted community of locals who never want to leave. There’s always something worth showing up for. For more on the region, check out my guides to Vancouver, Washington, why people are moving to Vancouver, WA, and the pros and cons of living in Portland, Oregon.

Here are five events worth knowing about this weekend.

Motosport Classic Series 7 at Washougal Motocross Park

📅Saturday & Sunday, April 18–19, 2026
📍Washougal Motocross Park, 40205 NE Borin Rd, Washougal, WA 98671

Motosport Classic Series 7

If you’ve never watched motocross live, this weekend is the perfect entry point — and Washougal Motocross Park is one of the most stunning circuits in the sport to do it. Round 7 of the Motosport Classic Series kicks off Saturday and continues Sunday, with riders navigating dramatic elevation changes, the famous Dunlop Horsepower Hill, and the legendary 100% Ski Jump, all set against a backdrop of fir trees and the rolling foothills of Southwest Washington.

What makes Washougal special is how close you can get to the action. This is an old-school motocross facility where the track winds right through the terrain, giving spectators sightlines that feel almost too good to be true. Manufacturers and sponsors regularly use the park for TV commercials and photo shoots — once you see it, you’ll understand why. The beautiful Columbia River sits at the bottom of the mountain, making the whole setting feel cinematic.

What to Expect

  • Two full days of classic motocross racing, Round 7 of the Motosport Classic Series
  • Set at one of the most scenic circuits in the sport — fir forest, hills, and river views
  • Famous features: Dunlop Horsepower Hill and the 100% Ski Jump
  • Up-close spectator access — this is old-school motocross at its best
  • Continues across additional dates through July 2026

💡 Pro Tip from a Local

Wear layers and bring sunscreen — the foothills weather can swing on you fast. Arrive early Saturday to get a feel for the track layout and find a good vantage point before the racing heats up. The elevation changes mean there are spots where you can watch the same rider hit multiple features without moving. If you have kids who are into bikes or outdoor adventure, this is one of those afternoons they’ll talk about for a long time.

Clean & Green: Waterfront Park Cleanup

📅Saturday, April 18, 2026
10:00 AM – 12:00 PM PDT
📍560 Waterfront Way, Vancouver, WA 98660 (across from Evoke Winery)
💲Free — registration highly encouraged

Clean & Green: Waterfront Park Cleanup

Earth Day in Vancouver, WA is April 22nd — and this Saturday, SOLVE is getting a head start in the best possible way. The Clean & Green: Waterfront Park Cleanup is a two-hour community volunteer event based right at Vancouver’s beautiful waterfront, just across from Evoke Winery. After check-in and supply distribution, volunteers spread out into downtown and along the Renaissance Trail to collect litter and help keep this stretch of the city clean and safe for everyone.

It’s a welcoming event — kid-friendly, accessible for those with mobility concerns, and open to groups, families, teens, and international volunteers. Registration is free and highly encouraged to guarantee your spot, though walk-ins are welcome while space allows. Wear closed-toed shoes, dress for the weather, and bring a backpack for hands-free ease. If you’re taking the bus, Line #105 runs express from Downtown Portland straight to Downtown Vancouver.

What to Expect

  • Free Earth Day cleanup along the Vancouver Waterfront and Renaissance Trail
  • Organized by SOLVE — all supplies provided at check-in
  • Great for families, groups, teens, and first-time volunteers
  • Accessible for those with mobility concerns
  • Bus #105 express connects Downtown Portland to Downtown Vancouver

💡 Pro Tip from a Local

Register ahead of time online to guarantee your spot — it takes two minutes and makes logistics smoother for the organizers. This is also a genuinely great way to meet neighbors who care about the community, which is something you can’t manufacture. After the cleanup wraps at noon, the waterfront has excellent spots for lunch or coffee — you’ve earned it. Groups are encouraged to create a team for check-in.

Native American Rising Generations Traditional Powwow

📅Saturday, April 18, 2026
Noon – 10:00 PM | Grand Entries at 1:00 PM & 6:00 PM
📍Clark College O’Connell Sports Center, 1933 Fort Vancouver Way, Vancouver, WA

Traditional Powwow

This is one of the most meaningful community events of the year, and the public is warmly invited. The Native American Rising Generations Foundation — a cornerstone of Indigenous culture and youth development in Clark County — hosts their annual traditional powwow at Clark College’s O’Connell Sports Center. The day is filled with traditional singing, drumming, dancing, Native arts and crafts, and the kind of frybread that makes everything better.

The Rising Generations Foundation was built around a simple but powerful idea: helping Indigenous youth in Southwest Washington stay connected to their culture and find community. Members of the youth drum group have been practicing for months, learning songs and dances from a wide range of tribal traditions — from Apache to Colville to Yakama Nation to Mayan and native Hawaiian. Two grand entry parades anchor the day at 1 PM and 6 PM, with a dinner break at 5 PM. As foundation co-leader Melanie Dominguez says: come with an open heart.

What to Expect

  • Full day of traditional singing, drumming, dancing, and regalia
  • Grand Entry parades at 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM
  • Native arts, crafts, and frybread vendors throughout the day
  • Youth performers representing diverse tribal affiliations from across the region
  • Open to the public — all are welcome, no experience or background required

💡 Pro Tip from a Local

Don’t arrive with preconceived notions — arrive with curiosity. The powwow is a living celebration, not a performance put on for outsiders, and the community is genuinely welcoming of guests who show up with respect and openness. The grand entry at 1 PM is a beautiful way to start the experience. Bring cash for the vendors, try the frybread, and stay for the evening session — the atmosphere after sunset is something you won’t forget.

K-Pop: HUNTRIXX Takeover at Vancouver Mall

📅Sunday, April 19, 2026
1:30 PM – 4:30 PM (Doors open 1:30 PM | Performance at 2:00 PM | Meet & Greet at 2:30 PM)
📍Vancouver Mall Event Space, Lower Level near Center Court, 8700 NE Vancouver Mall Dr, Vancouver, WA 98662
💲Free — registration required due to limited capacity

K-Pop

K-Pop fans — this Sunday is yours. The HUNTRIXX characters are taking over Vancouver Mall for a one-day-only demon hunters fan event, and it’s completely free for registered guests. The afternoon kicks off with a high-energy, concert-style performance featuring choreographed dance numbers and sing-along moments to three tracks: “How it’s Done,” “Golden,” and “What it Sounds Like.” After the show, stay for an exclusive photo meet & greet with the cosplay characters.

This is a standing-room-only event with limited capacity, so registration is essential — and the response to past HUNTRIXX events has been overwhelming enough that the organizers added dates due to demand. If you have K-Pop fans in your household, or if you’re one yourself, this is a rare chance to experience it right here in Vancouver without a Portland drive. Arrive early: late arrivals may face delayed or limited entry once capacity is reached.

What to Expect

  • Concert-style K-Pop performance with choreographed dance and sing-along moments
  • Three featured songs: “How it’s Done,” “Golden,” and “What it Sounds Like”
  • Exclusive photo meet & greet with HUNTRIXX cosplay characters after the show
  • Free to attend for registered guests — standing room only
  • Meet & greet is first come, first served and may be limited — arrive early

💡 Pro Tip from a Local

Register online now if you haven’t already — past HUNTRIXX events sold out registration quickly and had to add dates due to demand. Arrive before 1:30 PM to secure good standing room near the front for the performance. If the meet & greet is a priority, have your phone camera ready and be near the front when the show wraps at 2:30 PM since it’s first-come, first-served. This is a fantastic event for teens and tweens who might not otherwise get a live K-Pop experience close to home.

Bridge to Brews 8K Run & Beer Festival

📅Sunday, April 19, 2026
Race starts in the morning (check-in required) | Post-race festival follows
📍Fremont Bridge & Tom McCall Waterfront Park
💲Registration required (includes race entry + beer festival access)

Bridge to Brews 8K Run

If you want something uniquely Portland this weekend, this is it. The Bridge to Brews 8K is one of the only races in the country that lets you run across the iconic Fremont Bridge — a stretch that’s normally closed to pedestrians — before finishing at the waterfront for a full-on craft beer festival.

The race itself is an 8K (just under 5 miles), making it approachable whether you’re a seasoned runner or just looking for a fun challenge. But let’s be honest — for a lot of people, the real reward is what happens after. Finishers head straight into a lively festival at Tom McCall Waterfront Park featuring local breweries, live music, and that classic Portland spring energy.

What makes this event stand out is the combination: scenic city views, a bucket-list bridge crossing, and a social, celebratory finish that feels more like a party than a race. It’s one of those events that perfectly captures Portland’s personality — active, outdoorsy, and just a little bit quirky.

What to Expect

  • 8K run across the Fremont Bridge — a rare, car-free experience
  • Scenic course with skyline and river views
  • Post-race beer festival at the waterfront with local breweries
  • $5 Arts for All tickets available by phone — (971) 501-7722
  • Lively crowd, music, and high-energy finish line atmosphere

💡 Pro Tip from a Local

Register early — this event is popular and tends to fill up. If you’re not running, you can still head downtown to soak in the energy and cheer people on near the finish line. Parking can be tight, so consider rideshare or arriving early. And yes — bring a light jacket. April in the PNW doesn’t always commit to sunshine.
